Submission Guidelines

Cube-Side only accepts email submissions. Please send your submission as a MS Word attachment to submissions@cube-side.com Genre specific guidelines can be found below.

We will not accept simultaneous submissions within the same genre, but we will consider work in different genres. For example, if you'd like to have us consider your short story for The Quarterly Review and you'd like to be considered for a columnist position, please do so by submitting two separate emails and noting in the subject line what genre you are submitting to.

The Cube-Side staff will do our best to get back to you in a timely manner, but please note that a response could take up to a month. If you'd like status on your work, please email us only after a month has passed.

Cube-Side acquires exclusive first-time rights to the author's work if accepted for publication.  After publication, the author's works will be archived online. All other rights revert to the author after the first publication. Cube-Side also retains the rights to republish the author's work for marketing purposes and for special editions of the site such as “The Best of Cube-Side.” If the author decides to republish their work elsewhere (that has been previously published on Cube-Side), please provide a link to www.cube-side.com as the place of previous publication.

Opinion Columns: Please submit a sample column on a topic of choice (min. 500 words/max. 1,000 words).  Please familiarize yourself with the type of columns already published on Cube-Side. We do not accept links to blogs as a sample column. If you'd like to send us something that you've previously written for a blog, please make sure it adheres to our guidelines and that it is sent as a MS Word attachment. Also, please give us an idea of what type of column you'd like to write (i.e. what would be your main focus?) and how often you could realistically contribute. Currently our columnists contribute every other week so it is a big commitment.  Finally, please provide a short bio about yourself.

Not-So Elevator Music Reviews: Please submit a sample album review. The review should be no longer than 600 words. Please note that we do not provide the CDs for reviews at this time.  Along with the review, please give us an idea of how often you could review.  Also, please give us an idea of the types of music you like and what types of music you would review.

TV/Film Reviews: Please submit a sample TV/Film review that is no longer than 1,000 words.  Along with the review, please give us an idea of how often you could review.  Also, please give us an idea of the types of TV/Films you would review.
